About Milman

About Us

Construction installation and payroll services for UK businesses that don't fit neat, generic moulds.

Our story

Built to bridge
regulation and reality

The gap we saw

Payroll has always been a balancing act between accuracy, compliance, and practicality. Too many providers focus on ticking boxes for HMRC and pensions while ignoring how different industries actually operate.

We built our service to bridge that gap - so regulation and real-world operations sit in the same process, not opposite corners of a spreadsheet.

“We’ve seen payroll from both sides: the regulatory side and the day-to-day operational side.”

Who we are

Our core team combines backgrounds in accountancy, payroll management, and sector-specific operations - construction sites, transport fleets, hospitality venues, care providers, entertainment productions, and offshore projects.

That mix means we understand why an HGV driver’s night-out allowance exists, how a tronc scheme should be handled, and why mixed PAYE and CIS workforces need coherent treatment - not a one-size-fits-all template.

What we do

What Milman Services does

Milman Services operates across two practical service areas.

We provide specialist installation, commercial fit-out and project-support services for businesses, contractors, property managers and project teams across Birmingham and the West Midlands.

Payroll & Workforce Services

We provide PAYE payroll, CIS administration, workplace pension support and umbrella employment for UK employers, recruiters, agencies, contractors and workers.

Explore payroll services

Although our service lines are different, both are built around the same principles: clear communication, practical organisation, dependable support and work delivered around real operational requirements.

What we believe

A few simple beliefs shape every pay run

How we work

These aren’t marketing slogans. They’re the filters we use when we set up a client, run a pay cycle, or explain a regulatory change.

“Same steps, same cut-off times, same reporting format, every cycle.”

  1. 1

    Clarity beats jargon

You shouldn’t need to be a tax specialist to understand your payroll. We explain things in plain language and show our workings.

  2. 2

    Sector knowledge matters

The difference between an average payroll provider and a specialist is understanding why an HGV driver’s night-out allowance exists, how a tronc scheme avoids NIC, or why seafarers care about day counts.

  3. 3

    Compliance is non-negotiable

We align with HMRC guidance, The Pensions Regulator, UK GDPR, and relevant employment legislation. Evidence and documentation are part of the service.

  4. 4

    Consistency reduces stress

Same steps, same cut-off times, same reporting format, every cycle. You know what’s coming and when.

In practice

What you get
when you work with us

The working relationship

Outsourcing payroll should feel calmer, not more opaque. Here’s what that looks like day to day.

  • A named contact

Someone who understands your sector and workforce structure - not a rotating call-centre queue.

  • A documented payroll process

Clear coverage of data collection, approval, submission, and reporting - so everyone knows the rhythm.

  • Regular reviews

We keep pace with your operations and the regulatory environment as both evolve.

  • Room to expand

Move into specialist models without changing provider or bolting on multiple systems.

Compliance

Our compliance commitment

Standards we work to

We meet and exceed industry standards - HMRC-registered PAYE and CIS, UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and alignment with Agency Workers Regulations, Employment Agency Regulations, Modern Slavery Act, and Criminal Finances Act.

“Evidence and documentation are part of the service - not an afterthought.”

Insurance & validation

We hold appropriate insurances, including Professional Indemnity, Public Liability, Employers' Liability, and Drivers Negligence Insurance where required. Processes are subject to regular review and external validation.
